Labor Day Weekend

We spent Labor Day weekend in Tulsa, OK visiting with Steve and Jill (to all non-family members, that's my uncle and his wife... they are newlyweds and super cute!). They live in Austin, so on Saturday morning, they left Texas, and Mark, my mom, Kate, and I all left Missouri. Oddly enough, we arrived at the hotel within minutes of each other.

FW: Three

We stayed at the Embassy Suites there in Tulsa and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! We had a two bedroom, two bathroom suite, with a nice living room area. (All the pictures are taken from the website.)

Each night, they had a Manager's Reception/Happy Hour with free drinks for two hours! This pregnant mama couldn't take advantage of that, but how cool is that? They also had a nice breakfast each morning. Not your average bagel and cream cheese continental breakfast.

On Sunday, we went to the Tulsa Aquarium and it's a good one! Time and money well spent. Kate loved all the fish... well, the little ones, at least. She was a little freaked out by the big fish, but once I convinced her that the glass was protecting her, she was alright. Each tank we went too, though, she would say "Ga", nod her head, and touch the glass, reassuring herself that the fish couldn't get her.

That day was napless... EEK!! This has seriously only happened a few times in her LIFETIME and usually ends up being an absolute mess. But, not that day. She was great!! She literally was "on" all day long, and behaved herself so well. Even when we went out to dinner after the aquarium. Although, Daddy did end up taking her for a little walk along the Riverwalk while we finished eating.

FW: Kate

Even after dinner, we went back to the hotel for the manager's reception and that girl was just all over the place, running from here to there, being her goofy self.

But, let me tell you, she literally passed out that night in bed!! She was pooped!!

We headed home Monday around noon, and got to stop through Joplin to see my good friend, Jamie, again. Kate, Emery, and Arden played for awhile. It was a nice break for Kate out of the car.

It was a great trip and we are so glad Steve and Jill got to meet Kate!

Life With Kids

No pictures to go with this post, although, if you could've only SEEN the chaos of last night, it would do this post much more justice.

So, I had a Mary Kay skincare party at my house for a girl who just recently started selling it. I only needed to invite like three people, so I invited some close friends. Mark had plans, so I knew Kate would be at the house with me. My friend, Sara, brought her one year old, Trevor, because her husband was at their daughter's soccer practice. Megan brought little Allie, who is 7 months old. And Hanna, the LUCKY ONE, came by herself.

I kinda knew in my head how this would go, but I threw it together last minute, so it was what it was. I never did tell the poor Mary Kay girl who had to drive an HOUR to get to my house that there would also be three babies joining us. It was her first party, so we broke her in "real good."

The minute she would start talking, a kid would scream, or fall, or require "attention". At one point, Allie started crying, so Megan went and rescued her (probably from my dear sweet CRAZY Kate) and put her in her lap. Allie stuck her hand right into the skincare products that the girl had out on Megan's tray. Trevor fell at least two times and at one point Kate was hovered over poor Allie (who, mind you, was innocently laying on a pillow) yelling, "NO, NO, NO" about two inches from her face, all while poking her belly. Needless to say, Allie started screaming and needed "rescuing" again!

We were putting makeup on one handed with kids in our laps, our attention divided between makeup and motherhood.

At one point, we were smelling Allie and Kate's butts to see which one had pooped. This poor Mary Kay girl (who was not a mother) had NO idea what she was in for when she stepped foot in my house!!
