Total Chaos...

... that's the state of our house (and our lives) right now.  We had an opportunity come our way and made the decision to FINALLY try to sell our house.  Houses that sat on the market in our neighborhood for quite awhile actually started to sell, we were seeing "Sold" signs all over town, and when we contacted our realtor that sold us this house, she said NOW is the time... the housing market is starting to pick back up and there are more buyers than there is inventory.

We took a huge leap of faith and decided to do it with a deadline of only a month to get all the repairs, painting, refreshing, etc. done on our house. We are also going to be actually moving out and staying with family while it sells.  I just can't imagine having to worry about it staying nice all the time over the summer with the kids.  We packed up all of our stuff and are storing it in Mark's mom's basement.  So, the house will be "staged" with some furniture, pictures, etc., but all the "junk" will be gone.  So, we are hoping that helps it sell FAST.

It has been quite the ordeal.  Mark and my dad laid ceramic tile in the kitchen, so currently, our refrigerator, kitchen table, and hutch are in the living room, the stove, washer, and dryer are in the garage.  We are replacing the flooring in one bathroom and the other bathroom is getting painted.  Practically every room in the house is getting a fresh coat of paint.  We have had lots of help and those people have been lifesavers!!

Sane people would probably do this room by room, but not us.  We just have a million projects going on at once.  Not to mention, I had a big garage sale with a friend last weekend (which helped fund a lot of these projects).  I know it's temporary and will (hopefully) pay off in the end when we live closer to family, Mark's work, church, and basically everything else we do.  Keeping that in mind has kept me from having multiple meltdowns, but I've come close a few times and probably will a few more times before this process is over.

This is pretty much all we've done since April 19th when we decided to take the plunge.  Not a whole lot of blogging going on.  We are basically living and breathing this house and all it takes to make it "move in ready" so we can get a buyer in here!  I'll keep you all updated.
