Somewhere Over the Rainbow

This is blurry, but we took a quick picture the other night when we were trying to make sure everything was ready for Kate's Halloween costume.

I still need to pick up some white tights and some white bows for her hair, but other than that, she is ready to go! She has been practicing "Trick or Treat" which sounds more like "Ti Te", but she knows the end result is candy, so she gladly says it. She also yells out "Hap Ween!" (Happy Halloween)

She has been getting a piece of candy corn when she goes on the potty, which she calls "Tan Tor". Poor girl, all of her C's and K's are T's. She calls herself "Tate". She just learned how to say "cup" (it used to be "tup" or sometimes she would reverse it completely and say "put"), so we are working on other "C" and "K" words.

Back to Halloween, Mark and I are going to try to pull together some Wizard of Oz themed costumes for ourselves, but we'll see how that goes! I want to go all out with the Wicked Witch costume, but I don't want to scare my poor daughter to death!

Oh, I LOVE this time of year!!

Pumpkin Patch

We spent Sunday afternoon at Rombach's Pumpkin Patch. It was such a BEAUTIFUL day!! It had been so cold and dreary for about two weeks here, so we were waiting for just the right time to go.

We went last year, but mainly just walked around and let Kate play in all the pumpkins. This year, since she could enjoy it more, we did a lot more of the "fun stuff".

She went through a little fort...

Posed for LOTS of pictures...

Rode a pony...

She was not impressed. We waited in line for awhile to ride a pony, and I kept asking her over and over if she was sure she wanted to do it. She tends to chicken out of stuff like that. She kept saying yes, so I plopped her on that pony, and she boo-hooed the whole way. She kept saying "Off!" Then, after it was over she proudly told us that she liked it and was a brave girl (yeah, right!).

She got to pick out her very own little pumpkin, which we will paint next week...

She got her face painted...

And, I think her favorite part of all was this big sucker we bought for her as we were leaving...

It was a great trip to the pumpkin patch. We kept saying how next year we will have an almost three year old and an eight month old. Doesn't quite seem possible!!

Belly Laughs

One of Kate's favorite things is to be tickled. She and Mark play a game where he asks her, "Are you ticklish here?" and she holds her fingers inches apart and days "Li bit" (little bit). To which, he responds by tickling her while she erupts in laughter.

I am always tickling her chubby legs and she'll laugh, saying, "No No", until I'm done and then she says, "Wa more"(one more). Which always ends up being lots more until her poor little legs have red fingerprint marks all over them. But, she loves it! And her laugh is what keeps us coming back for more!

Enjoy her belly laughs as you watch her Mama tickle her to death!

Visiting Jason

I just realized how long it has been since I last posted anything. The weeks just seem to fly by!

This weekend, we visited one of our best friends, Jason, in Louisville, Kentucky. We left Friday around 6 and got there pretty late. We didn't get to his house until after midnight (there was a time change, though). It was about a five hour drive and Kate slept for almost all of it. When we got there, she was wide awake, though! We all ended up staying up until about 2, just talking.

Kate was ready to go at 8:30 the next morning... we were dead tired, but hearing her call Dad-dy... Dad-dy.... Mom-my.... Dad-dy... time after time, we knew we had to get up. It was so nice to just sit around, drink coffee, watch t.v., and RELAX!

Later that day, we drove around downtown Louisville while Kate took a snooze in the carseat. We sat at Borders and read magazines and talked about old times. So fun! We went to the mall for a little bit and then went out for pizza. We sat around his outdoor fireplace and made S'mores after dinner. Kate fell asleep all snuggled in a blanket. After she went to bed, we were all up until about 2 again. Just talking, reminiscing, and laughing.

Sunday morning was spent sitting around watching Kate be crazy.

We left around 2 (Kentucky time), dropped Kate off at Mimi and Papa's to spend the night since she goes there on Mondays, and made it home in time to watch The Amazing Race.

It was such a great weekend. We were sad to leave. Kate fell in love with Jason and his dog. :)

We SO hope to see him again SOON!!!

And, check out this sassy girl right before we left. (I know they are blurry iphone pictures, but they were too cute not to post.)
