Kate has a "sister" named Emily. Emily paints and does crazy things that makes Kate say, "Silly, Emily."
Emily shows up in a lot of her stories. Like the story about Emily throwing up on her "cat". Quite the imagination, huh?
Her imagination runs wild. Maybe she'll be a creative genius one day.
I try my best to jot things down as I have the chance, but there is so much I forget.
While driving around one day a LONG time ago, Kate embarked on a crazy story about these people that didn't like God. I just found the post-it note where I tried to remember as much of the story as I could. It went something like this:
"God was sad and he was like, 'No one loves me.' He was sad so we was crying so we hold him for a secin' so he would be happy. And my friend say, 'I don't love you, God.' and I said, 'Stop it! Here, God, put your sunglasses on. Let's go clean your face off.' Then he went home to see his brudu (brother)." ha!
The things she says just cracks me up. She knows I write down funny things that she says. She'll say something and then say, "Are you going to write that down?"
So, in no particular order, I'm just going to fire these off.
.............................................................
One day, we were driving out to Daddy's work. From the backseat, she says, "I just want to be with my Daddy. When I'm with my Daddy, thumbs up. When I'm not with my Daddy, thumbs down."
.............................................................
I'll show her something really simple and she will say, "Oh. my. gosh. This is amazing!" Or when Jack found her rain boot under the bed. "Can you believe Jack found my other rain boot? He's amazin'!"

While Christmas shopping:
Mommy: "I think I'm going to get Maddie a gift card."
Kate: "Why aren't you getting her a toy?"
Mommy: "Well, she's a little old for toys."
Kate (after thinking for a minute): "Well, can you get her a grown up toy?"
.............................................................
She remembers things that I have assumed she would have forgotten. Like after leaving Mimi and Papa's house, she asked me, "Why can we see stars at Mimi and Papa's and not on the highway?"
After a discussion about seeing stars she asked me if I remembered looking at stars in the driveway while eating ice cream. I told her I did and said, "I can't believe you remember that!" To which she replied, "Yeah, but I might not remember after I go to sleep!" ha!
..............................................................
She spent the night at Mimi and Papa's one night when we needed a BREAK!!! When I went over there the next day:
Mommy: "Did you talk about your mean mommy?"
Kate: "No."
Mommy: "Your nice daddy?"
Kate: "No."
Mommy: "Did you talk about us all?"
Kate: "No, we were busy."
...............................................................
She'll say cute things, like when we all sit down for dinner, "It's like we're having a family!"
Or she will say, "You're so sweet."

...............................................................
Oh, but she's SASSY, too. (Have I mentioned that before??)
As I was trying to discipline her one day, she looked at me, rolled her eyes, and said, "Mommy, we've been over this."
She loves to look in the mirror and make a face, asking, "Was that sassy or nice?"
................................................................
She uses words in the funniest ways.
She told me, "I'm just exhausted because I'm hungry."
Or she'll say, "That's just weird."
Or, "You crack my own self up!'
................................................................
A conversation between Daddy and Kate:
Daddy: "Guess who sung the National Anthem at the football game last night?"
Kate: "Megan?"
Daddy: "No. Zac Brown."
Kate: "Zac Brown! That blows my mind out!"
.................................................................
She got a toy laptop for Christmas and says, "Can I check my e-mail?" or "I'm just checking my facebook." or "Want me to show you how I can get on the wi-fied?" (wi-fi)
.................................................................
She wants to be big so bad. She'll say "I feel so big." or "I feel like a grown up."
She told me one day, "I wish I could be big like you."
I said, "You don't want to be big. When you get big, you have to get a job and pay the bills and you worry a lot."
Kate's reply??
"Well, I love having a job and I love paying bills and I just llloooooovvvvveee worrying."
Can't argue with that, I guess.
...................................................................
She asked me, "What age are you?" I told her, "I'm 28. Almost 29. I'm an old lady." With a look of shock on her face, she said, "No you're not! I LOVE you!" (Like she knows that makes it all better... and it does.)
...................................................................
She tells me things like, "You're such a good writer!" (when I'm making a list), or "You're a good hair brusher. Daddy is not a good brusher."
...................................................................
She has great timing. While in the bathtub, she started wiping down the wall with her washcloth and said, "Such a nice day to clean while I'm naked."
Or when she told me, "You're so sweet" and I laughed, she replied, "That wasn't funny. That was cute."
Or when my phone goes off and she says, "Teeexxxxxt!"
...................................................................
She says things that make perfect sense:
The other night we were laying in my bed. I turned out the light and said, "Ahhhh. I love darkness." She said, "Me too. But, not when I'm by myself!"
After a long, busy day, I was loading both kids in the car (with coats, mind you). I got in the car and let out a sigh. She said, "Bad night?"
(Ha! Like she knows ALL about it!).
...................................................................
But, she's a little irrational, too. Like the other day when Jack was coughing up a lung in the bathtub because she had just dumped a whole cup of water on his head.
She was yelling at him, "Cough in your arm, Jack! Cough in your arm!" "Like this!"
(And then proceeded to turn his head for him to show him proper coughing etiquette. I guess that's a good thing for a one year old to learn while he's choking on water his sister poured all over him, right???)
....................................................................
But, her sweetness always wins. While laying in bed with her:
Mommy: "How much do you love me?"
Kate: "All the way to the moon."
Mommy: "How much do you think I love you?"
Kate: "Tons! Like you can't love me just this much." (holding her fingers close together) "You have to love me THIS much!" (holding her arms open wide) "Like so high I can't even reach it!"
She nailed it on that one.
