Just had to throw that "egg-celent" in there. I am a first grade teacher, you know!
We dyed our Easter eggs on Saturday morning. This was Kate's first time and she really got a kick out of it.
The kit came with a "magic crayon". It was just a clear wax crayon, but when you drew on the egg with it, that part wouldn't get dye on it.
Kate gave this "magic crayon" a try, but got frustrated when she couldn't see it on the egg.
I told her that you can't see it until you dye the egg. For some reason, she took that to mean that she wasn't supposed to look while drawing with it.
She probably broke more eggs than she dyed, but she had a great time.
We also painted these fun little things.
On Easter day, we went to church and then had lunch with Mark's family.
We feasted on wonderful food, the kids got some Easter goodies, and Kate had an egg hunt with Gran and Nanny.
We also visited Mark's great aunt, Judy, who is dealing with cancer treatment right now. Poor thing. But, it was nice to see members of Mark's extended family that we don't get to see very often.
After visiting with Mark's family, we headed to my family's house for dinner and some more fun. The kids got more Easter baskets and goodies.
The weather was so nice, so we tried to get some good pictures of both kids together.
See how well it went? Poor Jack!

This was after I had changed out of my dress... I always forget that I want to take pictures of all of us. At Kate's 2nd birthday, by the time I remembered I wanted a family picture of us, I was already in my pajamas!!
In the middle of all of this picture taking, Kate stepped on my new sunglasses and broke them! See how sorry she was? :) Yeah, right!!
That last picture is so very "Kate".
After Kate got out of her Easter dress, she got her Easter basket from us. I bought her a little jewelry set with clip on earrings. Even when I bought it, I didn't think she would wear the earrings, but I figured I'd give it a try anyway. Turns out, she LOVED them!
She wore them while she had yet another egg hunt.
The night before, Kate convinced me to buy her a wiffle ball set at the grocery store. So, we pulled it out after her egg hunt. She actually didn't do too bad.
Let me tell you, this girl was D.I.R.T.Y. when the day was done. She crashed hard that night. Actually, we ALL did!!!
It was such a nice day... beginning with the rememberance of what this day is truly about, and ending with memories made with family and friends.
