Our girl is growing up so fast!
Mark and I are continually amazed at how grown up she looks, talks, and acts.
She is always saying the funniest things. She is still a sassy little thing.
Some funny things lately:
While in the car, she said, "I'm kissing my skin because I love my skin so much.".... Long pause.... "Is that weird?" To which I replied, "Yes, Kate, that's kinda weird."
Mark had dinner with Grandma one night and I told Kate that he was "with Nanny out to eat". She said, "Uh, that can't be good. Is it a date?"
She is SUPER dramatic!! She had a bad stomachache one night on our way back to Union from St. Louis. Convinced it was from drinking too much water, she kept saying, "I should have just had one sip. Why didn't I just have one sip?" She was dying to get home, but we kept getting stopped at every light in Union. When we would come to a red light, she would say, "Are you KIDDING me??? This is the WORST day ever!" And really, it was. Seconds after walking in the front door, she threw up all over the bathroom floor and didn't stop throwing up until about 3:00 in the morning.
In the car (we seem to be in the car A LOT, huh??), she asked me if I had some paper she could write on. I handed her a little notebook. She started flipping through it and said, "You must love this notebook! I can hardly find a page to write in!".
She can't stand being hot. I guess the air conditioner in the car wasn't to her liking so she said, "Can you please turn the air up? I'm still smoking hot back here. I feel like I've been grilled." See??? DRAMATIC!
A couple weeks ago, I did a craft expo and was going to be gone most of the weekend. I was telling her about it and how she will be with Daddy. She was explaining it all to me saying, "We'll be apart and then we'll be together. But, when we are apart, we will still be in each others' minds."
Out of the blue the other day, she asked, "Mommy, will you help me learn a country song?".
We all watched the Justin Bieber movie together. He's awesome, by the way. And, his movie was so interesting about how he became famous. Anyway, Kate has a new found love for Justin Bieber. We were shopping the other day and she heard a song and said, "Shhhhh.... is this Justin Bieber?". A lot of her conversations are about Justin Bieber lately. She asked Mark, "Does Justin Bieber sing Chicken Fried?"
We DVR everything and watch it later without commercials. I still call it Tivo. I always say, "We are Tivo-ing that." She had to take a bath the other night and told me, "Just make sure you T-bone American Idol." ha!
Kate goes to gymnastics right by the local community college. They have a really nice walking trail, so while she was in gymnastics, I walked. Then, I picked her up and she changed into shorts and tennis shoes and we walked together for about a mile or so. She told me, "We are like two girlfriends just hanging out."
Somehow, she hurt her leg the other day and was limping around. She somehow got the words "limping" and "galloping" mixed up. When she saw Mark, she told him, "I'm just galloping a little bit because my leg still hurts." haha! (It was better the next day, by the way.)
When she drops something in the van, she will say, "Mommy, can you use your right arm and reach down there and get my sunglasses?" Then, as I'm getting them, she says, "Good, down, down, you got them!"
For some reason, she was telling us how much she loved onion rings. It was after church and we were just going to run through Burger King and get the kids some chicken nuggets. She asked for some onion rings, too, so we let her get them. As she was eating them, I asked, "How are your onion rings?" She said, "So good. These onion rings saved my life."
While shopping for some Easter shoes, we also looked for Jack some tennis shoes. He had to try them on, both kids were exhausted, and Kate was REALLY whiny. She got in trouble and I made her sit on a little bench until we were all done. She said, "I just need some ALONE time." (uh, you and me both, sister!)
Kate at Disney on Ice... doesn't she look thrilled???
She has a purse that she got from Great Gammy and Great Gampy for her birthday and she is very insistent on taking it everywhere. She took it to church last week and later told us, "When I went to the bathroom at church, I couldn't find the trashcan, so I just put the paper towel I used in my purse." You would have had to hear her say it, but it was hilarious.
We love our sweet, sassy, funny, crazy girl!
