Playing Catch Up

I feel like "playing catch up" is the story of my life right now.  Summer always brings more activities and busier schedules, as well as later bedtimes and much dirtier kids.  My housework tends to fall by the wayside and dinner becomes cereal and fruit more than I'd like to admit.  Add into that, Simplified by Design work (which has become a big success. yay!), and phew... I'm overwhelmed.  I am committed to not let our blog fall by the wayside since it's the only way I document our memories.

So, I'll play catch up.

Towards the end of May, I got to meet up with some friends from elementary school...Megan (who I've now been best friends with for 20 years!), Andrea (who has been in New Zealand for the past few years, and who I haven't seen since college), Maegan (I got together with her last summer, but before that, I hadn't seen her since we were 10), and Melissa (who I haven't seen since about 6th grade).  Gotta love facebook for reuniting people!

Andrea is back from living in New Zealand and is living with her in laws, so we all gathered over there and let the kids have a ball in their basement.

Later that day, I had a girls' overnight trip planned with some friends to celebrate Megan's 30th birthday. Megan's in laws have a farmhouse and land about 30 minutes outside of Union, so we all planned to spend the night out there. We had a BLAST!! We rode four wheelers, made a fire (we kinda amazed ourselves), had some drinks, and laughed harder than we had all laughed in a long time. It's amazing what a little time away does.

It was so so fun and refreshing!!

We are working on a little girls' getaway to Lake of the Ozarks for some fun and shopping soon.
