Birthday Banner
Late Friday night, we were decorating for Kate's party. I pulled out her banner which should have looked like this:

We had to do some "E" removal and reattaching, and it worked out fine, but c'mon... that kinda stuff happens to me all the time!!
Kate had a wonderful party.. pictures to come!

Busy Morning
While I was baking these yummy things for breakfast this morning, here's what went down:
My sweet little one week away from being a one year old, master walker, avid explorer, and expert tantrum thrower got into the trash can no less than five times. When she came to me covered in coffee grounds, it was time to put the trash in the laundry room. Check. Wipe down baby. Check.
Then, she started digging through my purse. Take away my iphone. Check.
Want to play with my makeup bag? Harmless, sure. Until I realize she is EATING some grape flavored lip gloss. Big chunks of it all over her face. Throw away the lip gloss. Check. Wipe down baby... again. Check.
Wanna help Mama make some beer bread? Kate sits on the counter (loser parenting at its finest) while I mix and pour. In go her hands, covered in beer bread goo. Wipe down baby... again. Now, her hands smell like beer.
So, you know what she settled for? Sitting on the counter playing with the corkscrew. Don't report me. Sometimes, you just gotta pick your battles, ya know?
And that, my friends, is how any given HALF HOUR looks around here these days.

Halloween Weekend

We had the best Halloween we have had in a LONG time! When Mark was working at the church, they always had a "Trunk or Treat" event. It was always a lot of fun, but every year I felt torn because I wanted to be at my own house passing out candy. So, this year, I got my wish.
It was so much fun! We had a big party at our house with family and friends. Everyone dressed up, ate chili and gumbo (courtesty of my dad) and lots of snacks (including this rockin' graveyard cake I made... which actually no one ate, but oh well!). Oh, and there were margaritas... and who doesn't love that??
We all hung out outside to see all the trick or treaters. Our neighborhood gets a ton!! Kate wasn't too sure about it all, though. She DID NOT like the masks and painted faces. Hence, her look in the few Halloween pictures I have. She was so funny, frantically waddling around the front yard in her little ladybug costume, trying to get to one of us when a scary costumed kid would come!
The weather was amazing. The best I remember having in a long time.
The night ended by hanging out with friends on the deck and listening to Dave Glover's Halloween radio show. SCARY!
Mark is always behind the camera, so he is rarely in our pictures. So, you will have to endure pictures of Kate and me... oh, and my double chin. I mean, seriously!
We were both ladybugs. Kate was way cuter than Mommy!
Some of the party hanging out on the front porch
That same weekend, we went to the beautiful Mount Pleasant Winery in Augusta with Ryan and Hannah. The weather was gorgeous. We sat and drank wine, ate cheese and crackers, and listened to the band. The view was awesome!
Kate is turning ONE this Saturday. It will be crazy the next few days getting ready for her party and such. Birthday pictures and twelve month letters will get posted sometime soon.

Pumpkin Patch Day
We spent last Sunday at a couple pumpkin patches. We first went to Rombach's in Chesterfield. It was so much fun and SOOOO windy. You can tell that from all of our pictures. Not a good hair day, that's for sure! We ended the day in beautiful Augusta at Centennial Farms. This one wasn't as good as I expected it to be, but Kate enjoyed their little playground with a haybale maze.
Oh, and I have to mention this. This is how Kate preferred to walk around the pumpkin patch. She screamed if we carried her, didn't want to hold our hands, but she HAD to push the stroller by herself.

While Kate snoozed, we drove to Augusta (beautiful drive) and visited Centennial Farms.

It ended up getting REALLY cold, so we left. Kate's nose was all red and we all had windblown hair.

It was one of our best days so far this fall.
Mark and I kept commenting on how everything is so much more fun with our little lady.

Wasting Time
Mark and Kate are taking a nap. There are two loads of laundry to be folded and some cleaning up to do before we leave for the pumpkin patch when they wake up.
What am I doing??

I'm "Yearbooking Myself". Wasting time, you say?? But wait, look how great these are (ignore the fact that I didn't line up the picture just right and that my bangs from the original picture are sticking out in all of them... I was rushing... remember the laundry?? And my photoshopping husband was asleep.)

AHH! Crazy 80's!

What's up with the neck in this one?
See the bangs in this one??
Ok, I'm done... off to do the laundry. For real, I mean it.
