Good Friday

I had the day off (today and Monday... that's my Spring Break). So, it was a good Friday on Good Friday.

It was a gloomy rainy day. Pretty fitting for Good Friday and the events that took place so long ago.

I got to sleep until 8 and then spend the day with this cute little chick.

Speaking of Kate, she was super sweet today. I talked to her about Jesus and what Good Friday means (she kept nodding her head as I told her the story... so cute!). I taught her to point to her heart when asked where Jesus is.

Then, I asked her where Daddy was, and she also pointed to her heart. ha! We're just learning here.

She gave lots of hugs for no reason today. Usually, we have to ask for them. As we were reading a book on the couch today, she got real close to me, and then gave me a big squeeze. Be still my heart.

She has such a little personality. It kills me. She was going into her room today, and as she was about to enter the hallway, she turned around and said some jibberish while shaking her finger at me. As if to say, "You stay here. I'll be right back."

And, out she came with her one of her beloved babies.

We also did a lot of cleaning. She's a good little helper, you know. She put all of the shoes in a laundry basket to take back to the bedroom. I was folding some laundry and when I came back in the living room, this is what I saw.

Overall, it was such a nice day at home. Very few tantrums and a minor trip to Time Out.

Oh and speaking of Time Out, that's a new thing around here, by the way. She has to sit in the foyer by the sofa table for Time Out.

She's not taking to it well, but she did stay there for about a minute this afternoon. She just cries and cries and holds her arms up for me to come get her. Then, I tell her that she needs to be a good girl and listen to Mommy and Daddy (and you know, this is ALL getting through to her little 17 month old head, right???). She gives a hug and she's off to play.

I have a feeling we will be visiting Time Out MANY MANY times in the next few years. We have our hands full.

Oh, and do you know what made my day even better?

I discovered THIS written on the bathroom mirror by my fantastic husband. No one really needs to know that I didn't see it until 3:00, though, when I finally decided it was time to take a shower!

Tomorrow, we are going to a big egg hunt in the morning and then a Cardinals game in the afternoon! (Mark's company gave him tickets.)

Happy Easter weekend! May we reflect on our blessings as we remember all Jesus has done for us.

Kate is definitely a cutie! We have been blessed by her presence. And good luck with Time Out:)I do have to respond to the noticing of the message left for you on your bathroom mirror. Maybe this is a personal question, but didn't you have to go to the bathroom when you woke up? Ha Ha Ha
