I've been absent from our blog from over a month now, I think. In my defense, we had a CRAZY March. I started a new (very part time-12 hours a week) job working as a Concierge at an independent living facility. I love it, by the way. Before I knew I was getting that job, I had accepted a whole bunch of substitute teaching days, as well.
Smack dab in the middle of that, the kids got this terrible stomach bug. Actually, Kate got it first and it hung on for a few days. Just when we thought we were done with it, all the laundry was done, and we were all in the clear, Jack got it. Then, Mark had a day of it. Somehow, someway, I never got it. But, it was literally like the worst week and a half EVER!! So much laundry, so much Lysol... it was insane. Oh, and right in the middle of it, we got a bunch of snow and the kids couldn't even enjoy it.
All that to say, it was a crazy month. It flew by, though. Easter snuck up on us. We did manage to make it to Purina Farms for their Springtime Village like we did the past couple years. We went with Megan and Greg and their three kiddos. The kids loved seeing the little animals and really enjoyed the puppet show. Jack wanted NOTHING to do with the Easter Bunny again this year.
A friend of mine made these shirts for the kids and Jack was really proud of his. He would open his hoodie to show his shirt and yell, "Easter!" haha!
See??
Earlier that week, Kate had a fun Easter party at preschool. That's their last party this year. Boo. My girl is almost a kindergartener.
Easter Day was great! We went to the late service at church (11:45), so we had a relaxed morning. The kids enjoyed their Easter baskets and ate chocolate for breakfast, along with a few healthier options. ha!
We also spent time with both of our families enjoying good food and good company.
Jack is not into picture taking AT ALL!! We snapped way more pictures of Kate because well, she just stands still better (and longer!).
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!! Hopefully, it won't be another month until you hear from us again!
And, just for fun... here are our Easters from years past.
And, let's all just take a minute to remember Easter 2010 when Jack's hair looked like this:
