Grant's Farm

A couple weekends ago, we went to Grant's Farm to use our awesome Groupon before it expired at the end of the month. If you have never checked out Groupon, I HIGHLY recommend it! We have bought lots of them, and some of them were for things we were actually going to do anyway. So, if we can save 50% or more... awesome!

I love Grant's Farm! It's mostly free, except for parking and some of the activities. Our Groupon was just a little more than the price of parking and included parking, two kid's meals, snowcones, goat feeding, and carousel rides!! There's a great elephant show, AND you get two free beer samples in the beer garden area. It's just a fun little place.

Preschool

I am subbing for a friend during her maternity leave right now. It's going to be a LONG 8 weeks! Ha! It's really not bad, but it has absolutely reaffirmed the fact that I made the right decision for my family in becoming a stay at home mom. I LOVE LOVE LOVE being home with the kids! (Have I mentioned that yet?)

Anyway, we have worked it out where Kate can go to the preschool at my school twice a week. She goes for the morning on Wednesdays and all day on Fridays.

(Her first day was on Missouri Day... all the teachers dress up in western gear.)

She absolutely loves it! On Fridays, she has to take a lunch and she feels all big taking her lunch box.

It helps that the preschool teacher is THE most fabulous teacher on the planet!! I swear she is Wonder Woman. After Kate's first day, I got to school the next morning to find the cutest little book waiting for me on my desk.

I love all the stuff she brings home. Last week, they learned about the "B" sound, the color black, and diamonds.

They made these cute pumpkins. And because Mrs. Elbert is Wonder Woman, she made one for Jack, too.

Kate is really going to enjoy this during the next couple of months!

Our Summer Vacation

This summer we vacationed in Colorado and I am just now getting around to the pictures.

I'm about to post a jillion pictures. Continue on at your own risk only if you want to see Roskowske children overload! And Poor Mark. It looks like he didn't even vacation with us. I don't think he made it into one picture the whole time.

We spent a few days in Estes Park and got to see Gammy and Gampy for lunch one day.

We spent a few days in Denver. We went to the Denver Children's Museum, the aquarium, played putt-putt, stayed in a nice hotel, went out for ice cream... it was a lot of fun.

We went to Idaho Springs, Colorado and drove up Mount Evans. So scary! It's the highest paved road in North America. Described as "not for the faint of heart" and a "white knuckle drive" (no guard rails, crazy switchbacks). It's 14,240 feet to the top, and you pass through 3 life zones. We saw lots of mountain goats up towards the top.

See that car?? Yeah, that's the road. No guard rail. Skinny lanes. Enough to give me a heart attack.

We had a wonderful time! Next summer, we are planning a beach vacation. It's been two years since Kate has been to the beach and Jack Man has never been. EEK! Can you imagine that?? My crazy Jack at the beach????
